Self-Managed Superfunds
Buying Bullion Through an SMSF
Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs) are a popular and effective way to hold physical bullion as part of a diversified retirement strategy. We support SMSF clients in purchasing investment-grade metals securely and in full compliance with superannuation regulations.
Certified SMSF Trust Deed Required
To process an SMSF bullion purchase, we require a certified copy of the SMSF trust deed. This document confirms the structure of the fund and outlines the trustees’ authority to invest in physical assets like gold and silver.
Identification for All Individual Trustees
All individual trustees listed in the SMSF trust deed must provide valid identification. This ensures compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) laws and verifies that each trustee is authorised to act on behalf of the fund.
Additional Requirements for Corporate Trustees
If your SMSF is operated through a corporate trustee, we require a current ASIC company extract showing the directors and beneficial owners of the company. Each of these individuals must also provide valid ID, as part of regulatory due diligence.
Expert Support Every Step of the Way
We work closely with clients and their advisors to ensure all documentation is in order and the process is seamless. Whether your SMSF is newly established or long-standing, our team is here to support you with clarity, compliance, and confidence.
